Christchurch Aerospace Meetup #1: Spaceport Christchurch

Our inaugural meetup included interesting talks for diverse speakers:

  • Richard Sandford from ChristchurchNZ discussed future aerospace growth in our city of exploration.

  • Mark Rocket, Director of Kea Aerospace introduced the Spaceport Christchurch concept.

  • Rafael Kargren, an aerospace entrepreneur, gave a global perspective on the space community and the opportunity Christchurch has right now.

  • Ian Wright, Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Canterbury, discussed the university’s focus and interest.

  • Christopher Boyle, Director of Fabrum Solutions, discussed their international aerospace work in avionics and cryocooler areas.

  • Sharon Cook, CEO of Airways, discussed what they do, their vision and innovation focus.

  • Kurt Janssen, Director of Orbica, discussed geospatial mapping and data interpretation.
